A Traceroute is absolutely critical when reporting any type of odd network activity that is impacting your server.

You should try and run the traceroute command during the time of your high ping, packetloss or another issue you're experiencing.

1. From your Windows desktop, go to your start menu
2. Choose Programs
3. Choose Accessories
4. Click the command prompt shortcut to launch small DOS like window.
5. Inside the comand prompt window, type in the following:
   • tracert <server_ip> so it looks like this tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
   • There is 1 space between tracert and the first number of your IP
6. Once you have your tracert line typed out, press the Enter key on your keyboard
7. The tracert will now begin and your output should look something like the following:

When the traceroute is completed, you will need to copy this information and paste it into your support ticket. You maybe also email your tracert results to info@hostventrilo.com

1. To copy, move your mouse over the blue bar at the top of the command window
2. Right click the blue bar then select Edit - Select All
3. Right click again on the blue bar and select Edit - Copy
4. Paste your results into your ticket or email
